Changes Ahead? You Can Trust God!

We moved a lot when I was a kid.  It was hard to put down roots when moves happened so often.  Kindergarten was in one school, then I started 1st grade in another school, 2nd – 3rd in another, but finished 3rd in yet another school in another state.  Then we moved twice in the same town which changed schools for me.  Finally we ended up back where I’d started 1st grade and I spent 4 years to finish  school with the same friends. It was heavenly!

It seems that God was working behind the scenes even then.  While I was yearning to stay put and belong somewhere, He was teaching me to make friends with change.  It was many years before I came to that realization. Sometimes change comes with tears, other times it comes with joy, but one thing I know, it will be alright because God is with us!

Oh beloved, things may seem real rocky right now. Your life may be in upheaval and your comfort zone may be dwindling away.  You may even think you are facing a downfall! Trust God! He never ever takes you to where you cannot endure. His ways are always for your best, even when you can’t see it.  For His loved ones, and you are surely that, He knows what’s ahead and even in the hardship He may be protecting you from further trouble.  Move on with God and let Him be the one who decides your road. He loves you and He’s for you and that’s all that matters!

Psalm 118:8 “It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.”

Psalm 121:3 “He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber.”

Proverbs 2:6-9  “For the Lord grants wisdom! From His mouth come knowledge and understanding. He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity. He guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to Him. Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair, and you will find the right way to go.”

Rejoice and Celebrate Today!

Birthdays are celebrated by children with parties and cakes and streamers and more! As children grow older the party becomes less important, but gifts are usually given each year.  As adults lots of folks quit partying for their special day.  Some people don’t want to be reminded of their age or growing older.  They’d just as soon forget.  I am a birthday party lover! I say celebrate every chance you get! Life is short and people do get old and heaven gets closer and closer.  Give gifts with abandon. They don’t have to be big or expensive, but anything given by the heart is a wonderful gift.  Why do you think I still have homemade cards packed away? One of my favorite gifts is a sign that reads, “Life is a Gift – That’s why they call it The Present”.  Today is my beloved’s birthday. For him I just want to shower gifts, love and gratitude. What better time to say I love you than on a milestone.  Don’t let days go by without celebrating something with someone you love. Time flies and life is fleeting.

Oh beloved, it may not be your birthday but it is truly a day to celebrate life, liberty and the pursuit of God. We live in a day and age where we can still be free.  That freedom is being slowly sapped away, but for today we can applaud those we love, we can give to our favorites and we can thank the One Who gave us life.  The Lord loves you and He has a marvelous plan for your life. It began with the gift of life itself. Each and every day is His gift to you. The hard days will be replaced with good ones. The sad days will be replaced with joyful ones. But something inside every day is worth thanking Him for! Run to His Word this morning and read how He loves you and celebrates your life! Trust Him for He is worthy of your Trust.

Psalm 135:3  Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good; celebrate His lovely name with music.

Psalm 16:9  No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice. My body rests in safety.

1 Timothy 6:17 Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy.

James 1:17 Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.

2 Corinthians 5:18  And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to Himself through Christ…
