Poison or Popsicle - God's Word is the Guide

As with most children, our Stella will put about anything in her mouth. I can remember when my own babes were little how they liked trying to beat me to a speck of something on the floor. However, one child ate and chewed on literally everything!  Stella is like that.  She walked up to me just last night with black smudges all over her mouth and on her hand. I wasn’t sure what she partook of, so I checked her out well, wiped her off and cleaned her up! You have to watch kids like a hawk, because they don’t know the difference in poison and popsicles.

If left to their own devices, people will tend to swallow anything as well. If they can’t read or don’t understand the ingredients, they will find themselves sick or in danger or both.  It’s really important, this day and time, to know your stuff. All kinds of messages, greetings, teachings and more are out there. Many have no foundation in Scriptures, but are easily taken in whole hog. Unless believers become people of knowledge, they will veer off course and wonder what happened.

Oh beloved! Are you feeling sick? Did you head for something you really wanted only to find out that it’s made you ill or given you a bad taste in your mouth?  You may have thought you were going to find sweetness only to discover bitterness. Are you having a hard time getting rid of the after effects?  It’s never too late to run to the Great Physician! He will clean your palate and make your life brand new! He will take the poison of the world and as you apply the Sweetness of the Word, you will find that once again your life is flowing with goodness and light.  There’s never a time that God’s Word won’t work as the perfect antidote to the world’s system; all you have to do is apply it. The Balm of the Bible will cover, protect and repel anything that the enemy tries to give you.

God loves you so much that He’s always watching over you to help you keep from taking up the wrong thing, and He’s staying with you so that when you realize how much He loves you and you turn back to Him, He’s for you always. His safety and security is found in His Word created just for His beloved ones!  Taste and see that the Lord is good indeed!

Psalm 34:8-9 Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in Him!
Fear the Lord, you His godly people, for those who fear Him will have all they need.

Psalm 119:103-104 How sweet your words taste to me; they are sweeter than honey.  Your commandments give me understanding; no wonder I hate every false way of life.

Psalm 19:7-11 7The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul. The statutes of the Lord are Trustworthy, making wise the simple.  The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes.  The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever.  The ordinances of the Lord are sure and altogether righteous.  They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb. By them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward.
